How far can we push the limits of the human form before it transcends itself? Uppers presents a body of new hyperreal oil paintings and sculpture from Victoria Todorov, curated by Sarah Hibbs, exploring themes of pro-plastic aesthetics, productivity pharmaceuticals, and performative beauty standards. Todorov’s bricolage of camp references and garish displays of wealth and consumption exposes contemporary economic labour and class systems at work.
