Hello!
My name is Sarah Hibbs (she/her) and I am freelance creative producer and consultant living and working on Gadigal land in Sydney, Australia.
I have over a decade of experience working within the private, independent, and not-for-profit art sectors both in Australia and internationally. I am a current PhD student at the School of Economics, Finance and Marketing at RMIT researching the secondary art market within Australia.
My interests lie in feminist and queer theory, as well as in alternative models for the creative sector that foster ethical practice and collegiate ways of working together. I am currently Runway Journal’s Co-Chair with Mariam Arcilla. Established in 2002, Runway Journal is an open-access digital publishing platform that commissions, cultivates and preserves experimental practices.
As a freelance curator and creative producer, I provide bespoke advice on contemporary art and artists, strategy, project management, and logistics. Select corporate advisory projects include the RACV City Club Melbourne CBD, Metro Tunnnels Project, Level Crossing Removal Project, and Banter's film CALL ME MOMMY (2022).
I’ve held managerial positions as Director, Yavuz Gallery, Sydney / Singapore, and Chief of Operations at LoveArt Art Advisory, Sydney / New York. I have previously worked as the Sydney WorldPride 2023 Program Producer at the National Art School (NAS), Sydney; the Project Manager at Contemporary Arts Organisations Australia (CAOA) and I have held positions at Artspace, Sydney; Swiss Institute, New York; and Gertrude Contemporary, Melbourne.
